Brief encounters

I had time for only a cursory glance around the patch this morning - a pair of Jays in a tree at Ashley Hill, a calling Long-tailed Tit and a fly-over Greenfinch were the only birds of note at Fairlawn Road. The only invertebrates seen were a Bluebottle fly and another unidentified fly species. Celandines were in flower at the top of St Andrews Road and Montpelier Park.
