Before the deluge

Some nice invertebrates at Fairlawn Road this morning, including a couple of Oedemera nobilis beetles, some Dock Leaf Bugs, 3 Speckled Woods, a Nursery Web Spider, 10 Harlequin Ladybirds, a Marmalade Hoverfly and a Helophilus pendulus hoverfly. The Chiffchaff was showing well and I could hear young Magpies in the trees. A Jay was heard and a Coal Tit sang near Old Ashley Hill.

At St Andrews Park there were seceral Azure Damselflies in and around the pond and also a Large Red Damselfly. Lots of Tadpoles in the pond. A Wolf Spider was basking on a lead, lots of Wild Strawberries were fruiting and the meadow was looking good with several Yellow Rattle flowers. A Goldcrest was singing and a Mistle Thrush was feeding on the grass.
