A juvenile
Blackbird, with its parent but able to feed itself, was in the garden this morning. That would be the second brood this year assuming it's the same pair. I'm not sure how the previous young birds fared what with so many cats around. Meanwhile 'my' Blue Tits are still visiting the nestbox frequently and it can't be long before fledging.
There were several
Rose Chafers on brambles near the allotment gardens this afternoon together with Commo
n Carder,
Large Red-tailed and Bu
ff-tailed Bumblebees and a few
Honey Bees.

In St Andrews Road there was a nice selection of plants in flower including
Herb Robert,
Wood Avens and
Black Medick.
